ERFSC Brochure

The work of ERFSC is performed by three divisions including Administration. The other two divisions include Community Services and Family Services. The intent of the Community Services Division is to coordinate all community related activities under one division. This includes capacity building, technical assistance, resource development and outreach. The Community Services Division is responsible for the parenting education and support program where parents are provided with parenting training and educational workshops, as well as connecting them to other services within ERFSC and with external partners.

ERFSC’s Economic Empowerment Program, which consists of a Volunteer Income Tax Clinic and a financial literacy program, is housed within this division also. This unit supports the work of the Family Services Division (to include parenting classes/support, community leadership/advocacy trainings, our fatherhood program, and youth development/leadership, and employment).

The primary responsibility of the Family Services Division is to provide information and referral assistance, data management, emergency assistance, housing and case management services to families. This division provides work to families referred from Child and Family Services Administration or from the community, including community partners.

ERFSC believes in cultivating future leaders and also provides Youth Services devoted to youth related activities. Programs include:
1) the Annual Angel Tree Project;
2) the truancy work with youth who attend various schools in Ward 7;
3) the connection of youth to leadership development and advocacy services;
3) youth Camp Moss Hollow experience and Summer Youth Employment Program.

On October 1, 2009, ERFSC was the recipient of three grants from the Department of Aging. ERFSC now manages the Washington Seniors Wellness Center, the Weekend Nutrition Program, and the KEEN Seniors Program.
