Capacity Building and Technical Assistance

We define capacity building as activities, resources and supports that strengthen the skills and abilities of people and community groups to take effective action and leading roles in the development of their community. The mini-grant program is a huge piece of our capacity building program. In addition, we also provide larger grants to organizations via a Title IVE Waiver funded by CFSA.

MINI-GRANTS

ERFSC provides small mini-grants to assist community based organizations with Summer Programming. The grants are designed to improve leadership skills so that problems are solved by and within the neighborhoods; to implement ideas that help expose youth to services; to help reduce the feeling of abandonment and alienation experienced by youth due to trauma caused by losses; to keep families, youth, and seniors together, allowing them to live at home comfortably; to expand community supports to families of children at risk; and to expand existing programs by offering scholarships.
The mini-grants will permit organizations or individuals in these organizations to develop novel approaches and ideas to involving children, youth, seniors and families in activities that promote family stability and provide healthy and wholesome experiences in which children, youth and families may engage.
